For anyone who has struggled with yo-yo dieting, this is the book for you. It is not offering a quick fix, it comes from the perspective of addressing your food habits from an holistic view point. It is simple and straightforward, it makes sense, it doesn't baffle you with science. By addressing the body, mind and soul collectively, it helps you understand the root cause of your weight issues. As a nutritional therapist, I would definately recommend this book to clients.

"Your Journey of the Slim Soul - A holistic approach to your perfect body is a journey towards the individual that is you and has always been you. I can talk about healthy eating, managing my weight, and losing ten or thirty pounds. I can even do it - for awhile. Then my old self doubts, eating habits and self neglect take over until I have the courage to try again. This is a cycle that repeats itself all too often for many of us. The truth is I do eat well. The problem is I eat everything that is good for me in absentminded excess. Until working with Agnes Vermorel, I didn't even know that I had no mental image of myself as slim - unless I was sick. Listening to her Slimming with Joy CD and practicing the ideas in her book Your Journey of the Slim Soul keeps me in the here and now of loving my body. Ms. Vermorel's compassionate clarity has assisted me many times to face myself with caring and frank regard. On my computer desktop I keep one of her inspirational quotes: "nothing tastes as good as the feeling of being slim." Moment by moment I learn what I need to know to make permanent changes in my relationship to food and to my body and to my life. "

In my business many clients come to me for the secret ingredient to a better them. Of course fitness and healthy eating is an essential part of this, but there is always a part that my clients struggle to understand. Mainly clients come to me when they have tried all the diets and fitness tricks and lost the battle, consumed in self-loafing and berating themselves for yet again failing. I tell my clients that the first ingredient is to start loving their body and their soul. They look confused and tell me but i'm paying for you to change what I don't love so I CAN love myself!!!!! This book provides a rounded view of a healthy person, you can know fitness and healthy living back to front but if you don't have the right mind set none of this matters!!! Anges at last has brought a book that understands all the components to make a healthy you. Bringing to light the key ingredient to weight loss SELF LOVE……..

In her book, 'The Journey of the Slim Soul', Anges has put together information from a wealth of sources to help women on the road to a healthier and happier life. If this was all she had done, it would be a useful resource for anyone trying to lose weight. But this book is much more than a compendium, and Anges' approach is far more original than that.
Anges comes at the issue of weight loss from a holistic and spiritual viewpoint. She has the knack of knowing exactly the sort of underlying problems that make dieting in itself problematic for many women. She also knows only too well the voice of the inner saboteur. She tackles all of these issues head-on, with a remarkable sensitivity and real practicality. Her workshops provide women with useful and effective strategies for dealing with the emotional hurdles that they are likely to encounter en route to a more fulfilling and happier way of being.
I would suggest that making your own journey of your slim soul can be made easier and much more fun with Agnes acting as your guide. With her waymarkers to help you, you are much more likely to reach your destination!

I would like to share a little something about how Journey of the Slim Soul subtley, yet profoundly, changed my whole outlook on my weight and how I would like to look. Before I got pregnant, I was of average size to small size and was very happy with the way my body looked. I was petite on top, curvy at the bottom and felt really comfortable in my own skin. When I got pregnant, I jumped at the opportunity to each AS MUCH as I possibly could and of course, the result was that I ended up 2 sizes larger than my usual size.
Due to having a cesarean birth, and not putting in enough exercise after my recovery, my weight did not shrink down much. I felt too big, unattractive and just generally had low self-esteem and self-confidence. I wanted to go back to the old 'thin' me.
When I read Journey of the Slim Soul's message of loving yourself - I realised something life-changing. Being my old size wouldnt actually make me happy. Because I wasnt that person anymore. I am a mother now, and a different person. Yes, I would like to be slimmer - but only slightly so. Only a size less than where I am now. Because I love my body being curvy! So thank you Agnes for helping me to recognise that. It has taken the pressure of myself to be stick thin and to eat nothing but rabbit food :p I simply want to be healthy, fit and slightly slimmer - I want to look like a real woman! And be healthy and have enough energy to keep up with my baby daughter :)

First of all, I think what you are doing is beautiful and I am so glad you have listened to your inner knowing in writing this book. I know you've mentioned that it's been hard to do so since there are so many other books out there on slimming. No one can offer what you offer, though! So, thank you!
I have really enjoyed the book. It's been a reminder and an inspiration for me to keep going on my Journey of the Slim Soul. (I love how you call it a Journey, because that's what it is!) After yo yo dieting and emotional eating my whole life, I lost my extra 50 pounds 5 years ago, and I've kept it off by doing a lot of what you are talking about in the book. However, it's amazing how there are layers upon layers in this journey! I still reach for chocolate when I have something uncomfortable to face inside myself!! I appreciate the exercises you've suggested in the book. And I really like how you have offered many different approaches to help with the journey, because in my experience, there hasn't been just one thing that has helped me in slimming. It's lots of different things, and there are no absolute truths that are going to work for everyone. You do an excellent job of acknowledging that in the book, and I like that.
I am making this longer than I'd planned, but I just want to let you know I appreciate what you do. I read your posts and your emails and I get a lot of inspiration from them.
